Grant Readiness Assessment

GrantPathways provides assessment consulting services to determine the effectiveness of our nonprofit clients and their boards and to help assess the organizations’ readiness to compete for grants. Our proprietary Grant Readiness Assessment uses a simple form that is filled out by a nonprofit’s leadership by answering “yes” and “no” questions. This assessment gauges whether the nonprofit has developed policies and supporting documentation that are most critical to have in place when seeking grant funds.   Some examples are board rosters, personnel policies, budgets, audits, and financial statements. GrantPathways then prepares a detailed report outlining the areas in which the organization needs to improve to increase its chances for grant success. This assessment is required for all new GrantPathways clients who have had little or no grant winning experience.

Grant Research

The staff of GrantPathways believes that nonprofit resources should be invested wisely to produce the greatest return. Before we begin a new grant application, we have done our homework to ensure that we apply for grants with a good probability of success for our clients. Our research strategies allow us to stay in tune with what is happening in the grant world so we can best support our clients.

On a daily basis, we scan current literature with an eye to new funding opportunities, deadlines, trends in philanthropy and practical tips and information to share with our clients. We have an ear to local funding opportunities and actively network with the best interests of our clients in mind. GrantPathways also subscribes to two state of the art database search engines which are invaluable for researching funding prospects for our clients.

GrantPathways offers a detailed funding prospect search service.   We are highly skilled at matching the services provided by your organization with funders that have an expressed interest in those services and populations served. We utilize the database tools to dive deeply and look at the funders interests, restrictions and giving history. GrantPathways prepares a comprehensive report summarizing the search results and includes key information for each prospect, including application guidelines and deadlines. Together, we use this report to develop an action plan designed to build funding support for your organization.

Grant Proposal Writing

GrantPathways works closely with our clients to develop strong grant proposal concepts and gather pertinent information that is needed for each grant proposal. Then, we take all of this information and write outstanding proposals for our clients. While some of our clients contact us with a specific grant proposal that they would like us to write, we typically inform our clients on a regular basis about grant opportunities for which they would otherwise not be aware.

Typically, we offer 12-month service agreements, with monthly fees ranging from approximately $1,000 to several thousand dollars, depending on the number and kinds of grants in the agreement. Our team has worked with organizations of all budgets, sizes and focus areas.

Workshops/Webinars

“Introduction to Grant Writing” is an 8-hour training course in which GrantPathways’ staff walks you step by step through the grant seeking and writing process. You will learn vital insights into this process from experts who have been winning grants for over 30 years.   Instruction topics include: Is your nonprofit ready for grants? How to prepare for grants; How to search for grants that best fit your nonprofit; Types of grant proposals; Elements of a successful grant proposal; Practice with writing grants. GrantPathways can also customize this training for groups.
